Evolution of the San Juan Worm....

I was able to take some time off this past weekend and fish. It was a much needed fishing weekend. There were some really nice fish caught (more on that in a later post), and the weekend as a whole was great. Tailwaters are your best bet for a while in this great state. I was fortunate enough to get to float several of these over the past couple of days. As many of you know certain bugs are fished on these tailwaters and one of these is the classic San Juan worm (and the not so classic). I have put together a few ties that give this pattern a whole new outlook on fishing.

Someone once told me that a chamois worm was one of the original worm flies.
