Laramie with a solid Wind River Brown Trout |
Laramie Wiginton was born in Snyder Texas. At the age of 6 Laramie and his family moved to Pavillion Wyoming. Laramie has called the Wind River valley his home for the last 20 years. At the age of 11 Laramie caught his first fish with a fly rod right above Dubois and as they say that was that. From that moment on Laramie started learning all he could about the art of fly fishing, and what better place to test his skills then the Wind River Valley. After graduating high school Laramie attended junior college in Casper, Wyoming receiving his Associates degree in Agriculture Science. He then went on and Graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors' degree in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management. After working for a wildlife consulting firm for two years Laramie decided to start his own fly fishing business in Dubois, Wyoming where it all started 15 years ago. Since that time Laramie has been involved with the fly fishing industry any way he could. From working in fly shops to help pay for college and receiving his Fly Casting Instructor certification Laramie has been focused on his dream. Now it is a reality as the owner and a guide of Wicked Winds fly shop Laramie's goal is to make sure that nobody leaves WW Fly shop empty handed. Whether it's catching fish or wanting to learn more about the sport of fly fishing Laramie will make every effort to make sure you are taken care of. Recently recognized as a new pro staff member of Scott rod company, Sweet as.

I was born and raised in Cheyenne Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, and finished a degree in Secondary Education, Social Studies and Geography. Having lived in Wyoming my entire life, I developed a love for the outdoors and all of the activities associated. Fly fishing became a passion early on in life and it really took off throughout college, and the next step was taken in the form of traveling South to New Zealand in search of trophy trout. Nearly six months down South produced some amazing fish and gave me the opportunity to spend countless hours chasing and learning about big fish. When I'm not running the rivers I can usually be found at the shop or on the tying bench. I look forward to having an incredible experience up here in the Wind River valley.
Ummm, where's the photo credit Stu?
