Wind River Valley Fishing Report
We have finally had some epic weather the last couple of days. This has brought on some major hatches throughout the area, besides the major mosquito hatch we have observed some brown and sulphur drakes hatching in rather good numbers. Although the bugs are out, I haven't seen any fish on them yet. Along with salmonflies and goldens on our section of the Wind River we have noticed good numbers of cicadas around as well, rather large black and orange cicadas. So there are many bugs around we just have to find a place where the fish are on them. Reports of the local mountain lakes being free of ice have been coming in, so this is exciting to have more angling opportunities for the next couple of weeks.
